SPINOSAURUS
Watercolor Painting

In this watercolor painting I experimented with light and reflective surfaces both the scales of the dinosaur and the surface of the water. I have always had an interest in dinosaurs, and I wanted to paint one of my favorites in a unique way with colors not normally depicted in recreations.

SELF-PORTRAIT 2020
Acrylic Painting

This self-portrait was inspired by the artists of both the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist movements, namely
Claude Monet and Vincent van Gogh, respectively. I referenced both artists' self-portraits while creating this piece. The goals of this painting were to capture both my likeness and the color and values of light in an Impressionist style.

2019 TRICERATOPS
Intaglio Prints

This edition of intaglio prints was inspired by Albrecht Durer’s woodcut Rhinoceros, and his use of crustacean shells and lizard scales to create the textures on the rhino’s skin. I took his concept and adapted it to a triceratops with knight armor plating and chain mail to represent scales, because I am fascinated by both dinosaurs and medieval knight imagery. I set up the composition similarly to Durer’s, including text describing the creature, the title, date, and my own logo as a signature.

MAKU & MOGAK
Silkscreen Prints

This two-part series of silkscreen prints was inspired by Chinese dragon imagery. These two brothers are ghost-like creatures named Maku and Mogak. The idea came from my fascination of dragons and mythical creatures, and the designs compliment each other in both composition and style.

THEY CAME AS TROJANS
Intaglio Prints

This two-part series of intaglio prints is about an alien race that came to earth thousands of years ago, and continued plaguing the planet until the modern day. The creature designs were inspired by crabs, horses, scorpions, bats, eels, and  pelicans. I titled the series They Came As Trojans in homage of the Trojan Horse account, implying that the creatures seemed docile but were truly hostile.
